Super cute coffee shop! The jitterbug smoothie is amazing! Our drinks came very quickly, and the setup of the shop is adorable! Very reasonable prices, and good quality drinks. Definitely recommend trying while in Reno!
I met a friend for coffee and smoothies.
It is a quaint environment where people can meet and have a chat. If you are interested in working at the café as well, it is an option.
The owner was friendly and helpful. She offered dairy-substitutes for my allergies in the smoothie.
Note: All smoothie ingredients are pre-packaged and frozen. Actual fruit substitutes are not possible.

The purple been has been around for like 20 years. It’s a great spot says drive-through was very busy when we got there Stephanie, the barista gave us world-class service and her drinks are delicious. OK she prepared everything. It came out so good I had the Kona white mocha, Frappuccino style drink, and she had a Oatmilk Matcha frappe? Frappe? If you’re in Reno, I highly recommend that you come out and try it.
An older lady who worked there, with black hair was incredibly rude when I ordered. Never coming back. Hate that they ruined a local place for me. I heard they had more sugar free coffee syrups than most places and I wanted to try them out. My best friend is diabetic so I like to try and find good coffee places that can offer interesting flavors with less worry. I went to try the sugar free pumpkin coffee they offered. When I ordered it I asked "I heard you have a sugar free version, is that true?" Then the lady behind the counter said " Awww are you watching your figure?" I did not take this as playful or funny. Call me a snow flake if you'd like but her tone and facial expression was not one of jest, but one of rudeness. Genuinely disappointed.
Love Purple Bean! The people are nice and friendly, and the coffee is awesome. They have more menu options than you can imagine! Also, good muffins and snacks to go with your coffee. Parking lot can be pretty busy and tight for my F350 truck, but for me, it's worth it even if I need to walk from Raleys parking lot!
I highly recommend a Dirty Chai here, I'm very picky about my coffee. I stepped out of my comfort zone one day and gave this local spot a try. And I was not disappointed. I even sat down sipped on my coffee and played my Nintendo, it was a vibe. They do have free WiFi just as a bonus if anyone needs to find spots like this to pop up a laptop. Great hidden gem in Reno.
Awesome baristas, amazing creativity, delicious danishes, and today they had a jazz band playing out front!
Hands down best chai latte in town!!! Oh and their peaches n cream smoothie is wonderful! I drive across town for the quality and atmosphere here.
They offer Punch cards, 10 drinks get one free. I bought 2 in one visit and they punched both boxes!
They also love pets, they give treats and sometimes take pictures of them.
They have definitely won me over, I'm a loyal customer 😁
Their Facebook page is pretty entertaining, I checked it out this morning.
Very cute local spot. Friendly college atmosphere and a great location for students or residents of Old Northwest!
